Oh jeeez, I’m talking about the afterlife again! Well, I can’t help it, I just started reading, The Last Frontier: Exploring the Afterlife and Transforming Our Fear of Death, by Julia Assante PhD.
I’m not reading it to transform my fear of death because I already lost my fear of death over six years ago when I was near death myself. Sometimes that’s all it takes and I can’t explain why I lost my fear, but I did. The feelings I had while being so sick are very hard to explain but in that time I somehow realized this physical life is definitely not all there is.
First of all, I do not connect the afterlife with religion and I think that’s a big key in thinking about it the way I do. I think about the afterlife as part of the natural cycle of life; it’s as natural as a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. I don’t think of the afterlife as “supernatural,” just natural. (more…)
