Religion is not Necessary to Believe in the Afterlife

Observations not only disturb what is to be measured, they produce it.” -Pascual Jordan

Oh jeeez, I’m talking about the afterlife again! Well, I can’t help it, I just started reading, The Last Frontier: Exploring the Afterlife and Transforming Our Fear of Death, by Julia Assante PhD.Free Me

I’m not reading it to transform my fear of death because I already lost my fear of death over six years ago when I was near death myself. Sometimes that’s all it takes and I can’t explain why I lost my fear, but I did. The feelings I had while being so sick are very hard to explain but in that time I somehow realized this physical life is definitely not all there is.

First of all, I do not connect the afterlife with religion and I think that’s a big key in thinking about it the way I do. I think about the afterlife as part of the natural cycle of life; it’s as natural as a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. I don’t think of the afterlife as “supernatural,” just natural. (more…)

Midnights with the Mystic

With the elegance of simplicity, this book takes you on an exploration of consciousness that will shift you to a higher reality.” ~Deepak Chopra

I literally just finished reading Midnights with the Mystic and felt compelled to share it as a huge book recommendation. This book came with high praise from a long time friend and that’s exactly what prompted me to give it a shot.

The main thing I liked about it was that it was very easy to understand with a whole lot of logic, yet mystical at the same time. It was very straightforward without a bunch of preachy, new-agey type of concepts that feel like riddles more than anything else. So, yes, it was easy to understand. (more…)

You and I are essentially infinite choice-makers. In every moment of our existence, we are in that field of all possibilities where we have access to an infinity of choices.” ~Deepak Chopra

I was reading some of my old journals which I do on occasion and realized it’s my seven year anniversary of when my drug abuse when into overdrive which lasted a little over two years. Seems like a lifetime ago. It was around January 2004 when it escalated into a weekend event and ended in 2006 when death came knocking. (more…)

Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.” ~ Edgar Cayce

The World Is in Your HandsI’ve been feeling all dumpy and miserable for the past few days and I even resorted to throwing stuff across the room. It didn’t help much, it just scared the piss out of the cat. So….I decided to read. I picked a book I read a few years ago about creating your future. The book it titled, “The Edgar Cayce Handbook For Creating Your Future,” written by Mark Thurston, Ph.D., and Christopher Fazel. They are two of Cayce’s leading authorities who have put together this book based on Cayce’s philosophy. (more…)

Signs of Life After Death

To die will be an awfully big adventure.” ~ Sir James M. Barrie

There are stories of people seeing bees, butterflies, humming birds, and dragonflies soon after someone significant dies in their lives. Although, the signs people see are not limited to insects or other animal life, but can also be anything that was significant in that person’s life. This phenomenon is referred to “After Death Communication.

It may be a song, it may be sound, it may be a smell, but whatever it is, you must be open to it’s presence and awake enough to experience it or it may go unnoticed. I believe these signs are around us each and every day and we are too busy to notice something so simple most of the time. (more…)

The more a man knows, the more he forgives.” ~ Catherine the Great

Heavens GateWe have all had times when we thought we were being punished for something. We may have felt like everything we touched withered away or turned into a disaster. Never being able to sit back and have things go smoothly – if it wasn’t one thing, it was another.

I know I have felt this way for a good part of my life. I wasted a lot of years feeling negatively while cursing my very existence. I’m sure the majority, if not all of us have felt the whole world was against us at one time or another. (more…)
