I posted a similar video before and it really ….I want to say, “inspires me” but I think I mean something more than inspire. I guess it makes me feel that everything will be alright, no matter what happens to us now. Does that make sense? I don’t really want to type anything else…. enjoy the video…
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” -Henry Ford
Are you still using drugs? You don’t have to be. Do you think your life is too far out of control to turn it around? You’re wrong. Do you think you can’t do it? Oh, but you can! You are so much more than you think you are and you’re capable of so much more than you realize!. (more…)
Howdy people, I wanted to share this story with ya. Ya know, I swear I posted this once before but I’ll be damned if I can find it on my own site! LOL Then again, during a recent bout of depression, I may have deleted the post. Done it before…
Maybe you’ve read it somewhere before but it always helps to be reminded of the moral of this story. Hope you enjoy it.
The Story of the Mexican Fisherman
An American businessman was standing at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large Yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish. (more…)
“Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.” ~ Bill Cosby
I think I have talked about the depressing parts of my life for long enough. All the stories of drug abuse, hallucinations, fear, illness, and the rest. I have noticed I seldom think about them now which makes it really, really, tough to write about. Writing here on this blog has led to an enormous release of pain and I am grateful. (more…)
“Thoughts are like seeds. If you want different results in life, you have to figure out which thoughts are capable of growing those results and which aren’t.” ~ Steve Pavlina
Life is but a continuing evolution of adjustments and reassessments of what IS …….at least that’s what is happening to me. The meaning of things I have in my possession are again causing me some minor heartache. Today I will be getting yet another bag ready for the clothing drop-off location for Goodwill, and I will have a second bag next to it for the beautiful dumpster.
The dumpster is a wonderful thing that will take all my bad memories and swallow them up, no questions asked. Once the bad memories are loaded into the garbage they immediately begin to lose their grip and right then, right, there, I begin to forget they ever existed. (more…)
I took photo below at a botanical garden I was visiting earlier this year. For me, this positive message means we are all connected. Many people don’t realize this and most of us can’t comprehend the vastness of just how connected we really. Our thoughts and actions effect everything!
“This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.” ~ Dalai Lama
In our daily lives I think it’s important to keep reminders nearby of how we want to live a spiritual life. It is very easy to wander away from what you think is important whether your life is hectic or calm. I don’t consider myself religious and don’t follow one religion, but I do take things from many different sources if they resonate with me. (more…)
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent.” ~ Victor Hugo
As I sit here at my desk, I have an incense burning, have music playing, and the dog and cat are curled up in their beds. These are the simple things in life I appreciate more than ever. My happiness is real and I feel more alive than I have felt in my forty years on this earth. I feel as though I was just born because I finally figured out how to live, how to love, how to embrace the good that is all around me. Everything else, I let go. (more…)
Once I thought I could not put stuff up here that I did not write myself, then I thought to myself, “Why not?” If it’s positive or inspirational and credit is given to the original author, there is no reason not to. In fact, if it’s something positive or inspirational then all the better because the world could use more of it. The more places inspiration is, the more likely people will find it. (more…)
