I posted a similar video before and it really ….I want to say, “inspires me” but I think I mean something more than inspire. I guess it makes me feel that everything will be alright, no matter what happens to us now. Does that make sense? I don’t really want to type anything else…. enjoy the video…
Maybe you have had this problem while working on your inner self or while trying to solve a little problem that you can’t seem to change or haven’t figured out how to change?
I’ve read books and listened to different people but I get these conflicting answers like, accept what is and change what is (if you don’t like it). Well damn it! WHICH IS IT?! (more…)
“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.” ~Dalai Lama
Years ago I think I was more of an atheist and had no belief in a “God” as I understood the concept. I thought the concept sounded primitive, archaic and was for people with very weak minds that were afraid of death. I thought religion was an excellent concept that would keep the population in check and keep them afraid. The phrase, “God Fearing” told me it was all a bunch crap as I believed any God would not want you to fear it. I say “it” because to me, a God doesn’t have a sex, unless Zeus is your God, then by all means, say “him.” (more…)
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” ~William Shakespeare, “Hamlet”
Twenty four hours ago I was completely unaware of the idea I am presenting here today. The idea of demons preying on people who have altered their state of mind and/or who are susceptible to these negative influences because of using meth.
Before going further, and as simply as possible, I want to define three words as I understand them from the sources I have read.
Demon – A negative or malevolent, non-physical, entity or being Possession – When a demon(s) inhabit and take over the physical body Oppression – When a demon(s) influences an individual without inhabiting a body (more…)
“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.” ~ Edgar Cayce
I’ve been feeling all dumpy and miserable for the past few days and I even resorted to throwing stuff across the room. It didn’t help much, it just scared the piss out of the cat. So….I decided to read. I picked a book I read a few years ago about creating your future. The book it titled, “The Edgar Cayce Handbook For Creating Your Future,” written by Mark Thurston, Ph.D., and Christopher Fazel. They are two of Cayce’s leading authorities who have put together this book based on Cayce’s philosophy. (more…)
“This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.” ~ Dalai Lama
In our daily lives I think it’s important to keep reminders nearby of how we want to live a spiritual life. It is very easy to wander away from what you think is important whether your life is hectic or calm. I don’t consider myself religious and don’t follow one religion, but I do take things from many different sources if they resonate with me. (more…)
“You probably wouldn’t worry about what people think of you if you could know how seldom they do.” ~ Olin Miller
Being an adult in the hospital without the ability to walk makes an adult diaper a necessity. Truly, it was not the worst thing in the world and I’m just grateful I was on morphine at the time yet, I was still mortified and all I could think was, “uh oh!”
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent.” ~ Victor Hugo
As I sit here at my desk, I have an incense burning, have music playing, and the dog and cat are curled up in their beds. These are the simple things in life I appreciate more than ever. My happiness is real and I feel more alive than I have felt in my forty years on this earth. I feel as though I was just born because I finally figured out how to live, how to love, how to embrace the good that is all around me. Everything else, I let go. (more…)
I recently found these Native American code of ethics - I am unsure of where this originated and of it’s accuracy. Regardless of where it originated, I like it and I wanted to pass it on. So much common sense, a great respect for the earth and everything that calls it home. I’m a big nature and animal lover so of course I’m posting it.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Intellectually, I know forgiving someone who has hurt me goes a long way in healing my emotional scars, but actually doing it is tough as hell. Sometimes I think I’ve been successful but later realize I’ve forgiven no one. All the pain is still there hurting as bad as it did years ago, sometimes worse. (more…)
